As part of the engagement, CGI will expand the use of its Momentum Enterprise Suite to enhance the EPA’s Compass financial management system. The initiative aims to incorporate artificial intelligence and automation capabilities to streamline financial processes and consolidate multiple systems within the agency’s operational framework.
Under the contract, CGI will extend the EPA’s existing Momentum platform while providing integrated licensing, operations, and maintenance services. The company will also optimize the Compass system within the agency’s environment on Amazon Web Services, enabling new automation tools, AI-enabled functionality, and enterprise resource planning capabilities. These upgrades are expected to help the agency retire legacy applications and improve administrative efficiency while supporting broader financial oversight goals.
Jay Hadley, Senior Vice President and Business Unit Leader for Regulatory Agencies at CGI, said, “By modernizing financial systems and advancing automation, we’re helping EPA improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and deliver on the federal mandate to protect taxpayer dollars through transparency and accountability.” The modernization effort will also align with federal financial management standards through the Treasury’s Financial Management Quality Service Management Office marketplace.
