Biography
Daniel Mathews is the Global Life Sciences Leader at EY. EY’s Life Science practice is now >38,000 people operating globally with >8,000 clients. The practice has recently been rated as a Market leader ‘Horizon 3’ for in Life Sciences consulting in the HFS Horizons for Life Sciences Service Providers in 2025; is MergerMarkets’s leading European M&A Accountancy Due Diligence and Tax Advisory firm for the last 10 consecutive years; is the number 1 Big 4 firm for M&A transaction advice (by deal revenue); and is the practice leader among Big 4 firms in auditing Fortune Global 500 and Forbes Global 2000 Life Sciences companies (by total revenues).
Daniel oversees EY’s global life sciences sector strategy, working with biopharma and healthcare organizations to improve patient outcomes while enabling more efficient and sustainable operations. He advises executive teams on large-scale transformation, market access, commercial model evolution, and cross-sector collaboration, drawing on deep experience across pharmaceutical, provider, and payer environments.
Prior to EY, Daniel was a Managing Director for EMEIA Life Science at Accenture and earlier was a neurology commercial manager at GSK. Daniel holds a BSc (1st Class Hons) degree in Physical Geography from the University of Bristol and a Masters (Dist.) in Computer & Information systems. Daniel is a trustee with Whizz-Kidz – a UK charity specialising in providing children and young adults with access to electric wheelchairs.
