Biography
José “Pepe” Tam is Digital Transformation Vice President at Softtek, where he leads the strategy consulting team supporting clients as they evolve their digital transformation agendas. His work is centered on a dual transformation approach: using digital technologies to improve operational efficiency while also helping organizations develop new revenue streams tied to changing customer expectations.
Pepe advises on digital transformation strategy, business model innovation, customer-centric strategy, IT and analytics strategy, and innovation portfolio management. His experience spans technologies and approaches including BPM, RPA, machine learning, AI, industrial IoT, additive manufacturing, and Industry 4.0, along with design thinking and digital experience design. He has worked across industries including industrial, manufacturing, automotive, natural resources, chemicals, high technology, financial services, retail, transportation, airlines, and education, and he also serves as an independent advisor and board member to companies in education, financial services, industrial, and business analytics.
Before taking on his current role, Pepe held several leadership positions at Softtek, including board member, vice president of eBusiness, chief technology officer, and country manager for Peru. He also served as digital transformation director and IT director at Tecnológico de Monterrey, was managing director at IBM Global Business Services, led a large architecture team at Neoris Consulting, and held managing director roles at BearingPoint in Latin America. He earned an MBA from Universidad ESAN and a degree in industrial engineering from the National University of Engineering.
