technology, and healthcare services clients. Based in New York, Retterath brings more than 25 years of experience across North America and Europe, spanning both corporate leadership and consulting roles. 

He joins the firm from Spark Therapeutics, part of the Roche Group, where he served as Chief Business Officer and Chief Financial Officer. In that position, he oversaw enterprise strategy, finance, business development, and information technology while leading a multi-year portfolio review and organizational transformation aligned with Roche’s priorities. He also directed a major cost initiative that generated more than $200 million in operating expense savings and contributed to the integration of Spark with Roche.

Before joining Spark Therapeutics, Retterath worked as a Partner at a consulting firm advising biopharma and pharmaceutical services companies on portfolio strategy, operating models, and post-merger integration. Earlier in his career, he held senior executive roles in Europe at Sanofi and Boehringer Mannheim (now part of Roche), where he managed R&D, marketing, and strategic initiatives within diagnostics and life sciences operations. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and degrees in molecular biology and biochemistry from the University of Waterloo.
